DOTHAN: Multiple Dothan Fire units responded to a report of a structure fire at Barstone Apartments. The first unit on scene advised flames visible from the balcony and the apartment. Battalion 2 has command. Dothan Police responded along with an ambulance from. The road the fire is located on is closed due to emergency equipment and supply line blocking the road.

Command has requested a second alarm be dispatched to the fire due to the large 16 apartment building being involved in HEAVY fire.

Firefighters have started to get the fire under control, the fire made it into the overhead (roof) and was able to quickly spread the entire length of the building. Red Cross has been called to help find placement for the 16 families that are now homeless. The fire apartment was on the 3rd floor and was reported to have started on the balcony. Firefighters are usning large master stream devices and handlines to battle the fire.
The following fire units are on the scene, Engine 1, Engine 2, Engine 3, Engine 6, Engine 8, Truck 3, Rehab 2, Battlion 2, FM1 , Training 1, Battlion 2B, Pilcher's and several Dothan Police Units.
Fire Command Staff including Chief Williams are manning the DOC, and monitoring the rest of the city. Off duty firefighters have been called in to manned two more Engines comapanies.

Command is now advising that of the 16 aprtments only 15 of them were occupied....
