UPDATED. BREAKING NEWS: Burglary In Progress Two Suspects Apprehended

DOTHAN:  Dothan 911 dispatched a burglary in progress on Lakeside Drive off Prevatt Road. Subject inside the residence could hear the suspects inside.

Both Dothan Police and Houston County Sheriff Deputies responded, to include Sheriff Andy Hughes.

Two suspects were taken into custody just down the street from the residence. 

Dothan Police have called for a Crime scene investigator to respond to the scene.

Dothan Police Captain David Jay is also on the scene.

Houston County Sheriff Andy Hughes and officers responded to the residence. Two white male suspects were leaving in a vehicle and just down the road. Dothan Officers stopped the vehicle as officers and Sheriff Hughes were clearing the house. A 15 year old female was home alone, heard the suspects inside, locked herself in the bedroom and called 911.

Goof fast thinking on the victim. Great response and joint actions of both Dothan Police and Houston County Sheriff Department.

Sheriff Hughes has been spending his day on patrol today rather than in the office. You can not stop these burglaries in the office and he is working in the field.
