Tornado has touched down between canal and broad street in Samson.  Major damage reported by a Geneva County deputy.

reports are several trees and power lines are down, at least one roof was taken off, and a tree fell on another house. Samson Fire, Samson Police and Samson Rescue are all out check for damage, and injured people. So far no reports of any serious injuries have been reported.

At around 4:20, 34 Central dispatched Samson Police Officer Chad Green to the area of south Canal Street and South Broad Street. This call was reported by Geneva County Deputy Josh Myers. Deputy Myers reported that he had seen a funnel cloud. Upon futher investigation by Geneva County Deputy Joshua Myers, he did confirm a tornado had touched down. 34 Central Dispatchers performed an outstanding job in getting all necessary crews to respond to the scene. Samson Police, Fire, Rescue, and Utilities responded to several blocks. Along with electrical crews.
