Former Dothan Police Chief John Powell has been arrested following his indictment on charges he ook illegal campaign contributions.  Powell was booked into the Escambia County, Florida jail last night and released on bond.  

Powell, 48, was released a short time later on a personal recognizance bond.  He will be arraigned on Friday.

When you were Dothan Police Chief you had me arrested on bogus manure charges. In the kangaroo court of the City of Dothan I was convicted and had to appeal the case to a Houston County Circuit Court. A real Judge was brought in from Ecambia County Alabama. He tossed the case against me when YOUR prosecutors finished their case. Itnever made it to the jury. The Judge from Escambia County Alabama saw it was pure abuse of the power given to you as Police Chief of the City of Dothan.

We had 7 complete and 100% toal WIMPS on the City of Dothan Commission and Mayor at that time. ( Mayor Pat Thomas, Commissioner Larry Matthews, Amos Newsome, Paul Lee, John Craig, Taylor Barbaree, Keith Seagle). We had a City Manager, Mike West, which we still had, who apparently endorsed such abuse of the power of the Police Chief. The reason being nothing happen to you. All but 2 on the Commission and Mayor are gone the City Manager is still present. And nothing happen to Freddie Len White who was in on the false charges against me.

It was Powell and White's way of trying to intimidate me.

My question to John Powell, no matter if this is true or not in your case, Big John, it does not feel real good does it? It is a shame that people in power abuse that power bestowed on you. If it goes on in the dark it's gonna come out in the light.
