Halee Deal, a student at Zion Chapel School, was involved in a serious ATV accident on Thanksgiving Day 2011. After being airlifted to a Dothan hospital, she was then transferred to PICU at Children’s Hospital of Birmingham, where she spent several days. On days that did not look so bright for her, the gifts she received from friends, and even complete strangers always brought a smile to her face. While we could never repay the kindness that was shown to us, we would like to PAY IT FORWARD! We are taking donations of new toys and new stuffed animals to give to current patients at Children’s Hospital. Halee, along with her family, will be taking these items to Birmingham in April, in celebration of her 9th birthday.

Updated: Halee's mother has stated that the family is also taking up journals, books, CD's, and DVD's. Here is her post from Facebook on Halee's Hope - Paying it Forward Spring Toy Drive:

Some other suggestions for items you can donate are journals and books. CDs and DVDs are also welcome, since the TVs in the patient rooms have DVD players built in. Don't forget that there are teenage boys and girls that will be on the receiving end as well as smaller children. :) Thanks again for all your support. I am overwhelmed at the items that are already coming in!
