UPDATED: Law Enforcement Officer Shot at Wal-Mart in Montgomery

MONTGOMERY ALABAMA: We have received reports that a law enforcement officer has possibly been shot at the Wal-Mart in Montgomery, We do not know what his or her condition is at this time. Law Enforcement are on the scene, no other information is available at this time.

The Montgomery Police Department is releasing new details on the suspect that shot an officer at the Walmart on the Eastern Boulevard. The officer involved in the shooting has been transported and is in serious/stable condition.
At this time officers say they are searching for a gray Chrysler 300, Alabama License plate THEQNB. The vehicle was last seen heading east on the Eastern Boulevard toward Interstate 85. The suspect is describe as being a black male, late 20's, medium build and complexion, wearing a white or gray t-shirt or sweatshirt, and a black knit cap with white lettering.
Officials stress that the suspect is considered armed and extremely dangerous and should not be approached. If you spot the suspect or vehicle call 911 immediately.
Crimestoppers also announced they will issue a $1000 reward for the capture of the suspect in MPD Officer shooting at Walmart.
According to officials the incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. The officer was responding to a reported theft at the Walmart. An investigation indicates that when the officer approached the suspect in the store, the suspect produced a weapon and fired, striking the officer. The suspect then fled to the parking lot where he the stole the Chrysler and drove from the scene.

Montgomery Police continue to search for the suspect who shot a police officer, carjacked a vehicle and fled from police. Officials say they hope to have the suspect in custody this afternoon.
At this time officers say they are searching for a gray Chrysler 300, Alabama License plate THEQNB. The vehicle was last seen heading east on the Eastern Boulevard toward Interstate 85. The suspect is describe as 31-year-old Mathew Lawrencereno Wright. He is being described as being 6'1" and 224lbs. He is known to law enforcement as having a extensive criminal history.
Officials stress to the public that all available resources are being used at this time. Suspect Wright is considered armed and extremely dangerous and should NOT be approached. If you spot the Wright or the vehicle call 911 immediately.
