MONTGOMERY, Alabama -- Attorney General Luther Strange said he was disappointed that VictoryLand had "chosen the path of confrontation" as the casino preps to reopen today.
VictoryLand, once the state's largest casino, will reopen today at 2 p.m. with electronic bingo machines, according to owner Milton McGregor.
"It is very disappointing that VictoryLand has chosen the path of confrontation rather than accept our offer to prove that their operations are legal in court," Strange said.
Strange had wanted to seize a number of machines before the casino opened and file an action in Macon County to get a ruling on the machines.
