The Dale County Sheriff’s Office is currently seeking the public’s assistance in locating Billy Wayne Lomaneck of Skipperville.  Lomaneck is wanted for Rape 1st and Incest. Deputies attempted to apprehend him last week but he fled into the woods near his residence on County Road 70. The DCSO Aviation Unit and Houston County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit responded to aid in the search but were unable to locate him. He is still believed to be in the Skipperville/Ozark area. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Lomaneck please contact the Dale County Sheriffs Office immediately. Lomaneck is considered to be armed and dangerous.

The Dale County Sheriffs Office ,along with k-9 tracking teams from ventress and easterling correctional facilities and Alabama game and fish and the Alabama state troopers aviation units were actively in pursuit of Billy Wayne lomaneck . Shortly after night fall the aviation unit spotted lomaneck running in a field while being chased by k-9 . Lomaneck took a position in the wood line as the aviation unit directed deputies to his location. As deputies closed in on lomaneck gunfire was exchanged . lomaneck was transported to dale medical where he is being treated for his injuries and is under current guard. The shooting is currently being investigated by Abi an investigative unit of Alabama state troopers. I would like to Thank everyone in the community for their patience. The skipperville volunteer fire and rescue and Ozark ems for the quick response and services they provided. I would like to give a special Thank You to the K-9 units from easterling and ventress . Tonight they lost one of their k-9 in this incident we ask that you remember these handlers in you prayers.
