Opp, AL: Covington County E-911 has just dispatched Opp Fire to a wreck. Covington County Communications has advised the crash is a result of a high speed pursuit from law enforcement. The location of the crash is near 331 and the Bypass. It is unknown at the exact details at this moment.
UPDATED: U. S. 84 is blocked at the intersection of U.S. Highway 331. The suspect is a juvenile. An officer attempted to stop the vehicle on U.S. Highway 331 North near the VFW post. Opp Police Chief stated that the suspect got up to speeds above 100 MPH. He also advised the chase went on for approximately 8 to 9 miles. The Opp Police Chief also stated that the crash will be under investigation by an Alabama State Trooper because his agency was involved. Two suspects were arrested as a result of the chase. 1 female approximately 12 years old was taken with minor injuries to Mizelle Memorial Hospital. The suspects vehicle did hit a family's vehicle who was traveling through. Pictures will be uploaded later.
