HUNTSVILLE, Alabama -- With billions of dollars in federal budget cuts looming through sequestration, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency has released an unspecified number of immigrant detainees, multiple news outlets have reported.

ICE spokeswoman Gillian Christensen responded to questions with an updated ICE statement this afternoon.
