Vehicle Versus Volunteer Fire Department and Fire TrucksMarty Bowden

On September 29, 2012, the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a one vehicle crash in Blountstown, Florida. A 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling in the vicinity of 7226 Southeast Iola Road when it ran off the roadway. As a result, the Cherokee collided with the Scott’s Ferry Volunteer Fire Department (SFVFD) as well as two SFVFD fire trucks. The fire trucks were not occupied at the time and no firefighters were injured as a result of the collision The driver of the Cherokee was transported to Calhoun/Liberty Hospital and treated for injuries sustained in the collision.
This incident is currently under investigation by Trooper W.A. Mathers of the Florida Highway Patrol. Any and all applicable charges are pending the outcome of this investigation.
