HOUSTON COUNTY: This morning around 7:00 am Houston County Deputies responded to a report of a crash in the 300 block of Iris Road, where the vehicle had left the scene. When deputies arrived the found the mayhem that was left by the driver. The vehicle had left the roadway and hit a fence, pump house and a door railing before leaving the scene. A BOLO was issued for the vehicle and another deputy responding to the call found the vehicle in the parking lot of Johnson’s Paint and Body on South Oates.
Deputies responded to that location where they found a female passed out on the passenger seat, the driver a Hispanic male had took off and left her and the vehicle there. A K-9 was deployed but lost the track in the junk yard behind the Body Shop. The Hispanic male was last seen wearing a blue and white stripped shirt with blue jeans and blue cowboy boots. The female was complaining of injuries and was taken to the hospital by Rehobeth Rescue.
The damage to the property could exceed several hundred dollars. The crash is being investigated by the Alabama State Troopers. Alcohol was a factor in the cause of the crash.
