Victim has Been Identified: Head On Collision in Daleville - One Dead On Scene.

DALEVILLE:  Dale County has requested mutual aid from Wicksburg Rescue in reference to a head on collision on 84 West.

Will update when more details are known.

UPDATE NO 1 @ 11:26 PM

Daleville Police, Daleville Fire and Daleville Rescue are on the scene of a two vehicle accident in the city limits of Daleville on Hwy. 84.

There is one person dead on the scene. One person has been transported to the hospital. Ft. Rucker dispatched an advanced life support unit to assist. Wicksburg Fire and Wicksburg Rescue were called to assist.

Preliminary information is an elderly female and male had been at a Dothan hospital. The female was driving carrying her elderly husband home from the hospital. Preliminary information is she was on the wrong side of the road and struck a vehicle head on. The elderly female is the one that was killed.

Dale County Sheriffs Dept and Level Plains PD also responded to the collision.

The elderly lady was alone in her vehicle. Her husband had already been taken by ambulance to a hospital. She was on her way to meet them at the hospital when the accident occurred.

Update@ 9:50am

The elderly woman killed in the wreck has been identified as Michiko Sandlin of Daleville.
