Montgomery, Alabama, March 14, 2013 – VictoryLand Greyhound Racing in Shorter, Alabama, today announced the reopening of their simulcast racing facilities on March 15 at 10:30 a.m. with pari-mutuel wagering beginning at 11:00 a.m.

“We are happy to reopen and put some of our employees back to work.  It is a great loss of income to many more of our employees who have lost their jobs due to the illegal forced closing on Feb. 19th by the Alabama Attorney General.  At one time we employed approximately 2,000 people at VictoryLand, and I’m looking forward to having all of them back at work here as soon as possible.” VictoryLand President Milton McGregor said.

The illegal actions of the Alabama Attorney General have created a tragic loss of jobs for the hard-working people of Macon County, as well as Montgomery, Elmore, Autauga, Bullock and Lee counties who had people employed at VictoryLand and the loss of state tax dollars and monies donated to 60 charities every week by VictoryLand.” he said.

Doors will open at VictoryLand at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday thru Sunday.
