Coffee County, AL: Earlier tonight, Goodman Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire in the 8000th block of Coffee County Road 625. Initial reports were the structure was fully involved. I arrived on scene before Fire Units arrived and the structure was fully engulfed and the roof was starting to cave in. The first Goodman Firefighter that arrived on scene did confirm in his size-up that the structure was fully involved.
After Goodman Units confirmed the structure was fully involved, they notified Enterprise Communications to dispatch Battens Volunteer Fire Department and Ino Volunteer Fire Department for Mutual Aid Assistance. Upon arrival of Battens and Ino, Goodman notified Enterprise to go ahead and dispatch New Brockton Volunteer Fire Department for Mutual Aid as well. I was notified by a New Brockton Firefighter while he was enroute via cell phone, that Elba had called him and advised him they had 2 trucks ready to roll.
After the New Brockton Firefighter notified me of this, I went to Goodman's Command and let them know. Goodman turned around and dispatched Elba Volunteer Fire Department for Mutual Aid Assistance. Many units on scene shuttled water from a nearby hydrant to the scene because a hydrant was not close enough. Battens Tanker 1 refilled it's tank at least twice while on scene. All units on scene did an outstanding job at the structure fire. Enterprise Rescue and Coffee County Sheriff's Deputies also responded to the scene. All units are now back in service. The residence is a total loss. Below is video footage of Firefighters on scene working to extinguish the fire.
