DOTHAN:   Dothan Communications has dispatched emergency units to Dothan Airport to a aircraft approaching the airport with nose gear problems.

Dothan Airport Fire unit, Dothan Fire Engine 6 ( Napier Field Road ) and a ambulance is responding to be on stand by as the plane attempts to land.

We will update.

The aircraft is a Barron Aircraft. The pilot has reported that he is unable to get the nose gear down and is flying around attempting to get it down before they attempt to land. It is a flight safety aircraft. Unknown how many people on board at this time.

Pilcher's Ambulance is enroute to Dothan Airport.

There are 3 people onboard the aircraft and it has 300 pounds of fuel on it. They are flying around trying to get the nosegear down before they attempt to land.

The aircraft has reported they are going tofly aroun fo 30 more minute before attempting to land in an effort to get the landing gear down.

In a coversation with a pilot, while it is a dangerous situation, the pilot will sit the back of the plane down and then ease the front end down to the ground as the aircraft slows.

The pilot said, it is a dangerous situation but it can be landed.

The plane continues to fly around and has not made an attempt to land. Dothan Fire, Dothan Airport Fire and Pilcher's Ambulance are all staged at Dothan Airport awaiting the arrival and landing attempt.

Dale County Sheriff Wally Olson has dispatched deputies to the scene.

MAST Helicopter has just landed at the airport. Unknown of they have been dispatched for this aircraft or wsa a routine flight to the airport.

We are on the scene and will keep you updated.

The plane continues to fly around.  All emergency services are in position and waiting for the plane try to get their nose gear in place before attempting to land.

The plane is going to make a landing attempt in approx 5 minutes.

The plane is getting in a straight line to land at this time.  He is approaching now.

The plane still has not touched the ground.  He went back up in the air to attempt again.

The landing gear is half-way down, it will not go completly down...the next approach will be the final apporach for landing.

The flat iron medical helicopter and is on scene and ready for emergencies.  The plane is approaching to land.

The plane is turning to get in line with the landing strip.  The plane is headed toward the runway at this time.

The nose of the plane has touched ground.  Emergency vehicles are rolling next to the plane.  The plane is on the ground safely.

Everybody is okay!!!!

The plane did not crash, the  pilot eased the front end down as he slowed down. He ate up some asphalt as the front end came down.

All is okay and all is well.

Airport command ha released all units from the scene.  Dothan Fire Chief, Larry Williams and Dothan Police Chief, Greg Benton were both on the scene.
