Dothan, Ala.– Wallace Community College and the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine (ACOM)  held an Interprofessional Education (IPE) session on Friday, March 13. The session, designed to foster teamwork in healthcare settings, is the second installment in a series of cooperative events. Approximately 400 students attended the session, which was held on the WCC-Dothan campus.

ACOM Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) students, and WCC Physical Therapist Assistant, Associate Degree Nursing, and Practical Nursing students participated. Students met in general session in Cherry Hall and were divided into interdisciplinary teams to compete in a teambuilding exercise.

Future events will combine students in other healthcare fields and DO students.
