WCSO Arrest Suspect for Burglary and Attempted Motorcycle Theft
The Walton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call around 8:15 last night (Thursday) that a male suspect attempted to steal a motorcycle from the victim’s shed located at 953 E County Highway 147, Laurel Hill. Deputies arrived on scene and immediately set-up a perimeter in search of the suspect. Two K-9 Units and a crime scene tech were also on scene to start a track for the suspect and to collect evidence left at the scene. Witnesses who were present at the time of the incident saw Eric Dewayne Russell, 28, of 320 E Tedder Road, Defuniak Springs, riding the motorcycle across the yard. The victim chased Russell and was able to pull him off the motorcycle. Russell fled on foot but was identified through a photo line-up.
