(Chipley, FL; April 17, 2013)— Sheriff Bobby Haddock is pleased to announce the Washington County Sheriff’s Office is rolling out a new program entitled “Operation Safe Vacation”.
Residents who are planning to be out of town on vacation can contact the Sheriff’s Office and request that a WCSO uniformed volunteer check their home throughout the scheduled time they are away.
“We have always provided this service for our citizens and performed extra patrol duties upon request, but this will include the added benefit of an actual physical security check of the premises”, Sheriff Haddock stated. “Our citizens want to feel safe at all times, but particularly when out of town, they want the confidence that someone is checking on their home and property”, Sheriff Haddock added.
Anyone interested in security checks while on vacation may contact the Washington County Sheriff’s Office at 638.6111. A representative will schedule an appointment to obtain all appropriate information. Please allowed at least three working days before you leave town.
Anyone interested in having a general security check of their home by a representative of the Sheriff’s Office may call the same number for assistance.
