WCSO Deputies Uncover “Rolling Meth Lab” During Traffic Stop

On July 9, 2012, deputies with the Walton County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) conducted a traffic stop in DeFuniak Springs at Live Oak Street and Highway 90. Contact was made with Joshua A Rushing, 29, of Ponce De Leon, FL and Amanda L. Vanderecken, 30, of DeFuniak Springs, FL. A K-9 unit was deployed and made a positive alert on the vehicle. Narcotic investigators were called to the scene to assist in the search and processing of the vehicle. The investigation uncovered materials used in the creation of methamphetamine, chemicals that indicated an active methamphetamine lab, and narcotic paraphernalia was present in the vehicle.
Rushing and Vanderecken were charged with Possession of Meth with Intent to Sell, Manufacture or Deliver, Possession of Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana less than 20 grams, Trafficking in Methamphetamine 14 grams or over, Possession of Narcotic Equipment, and Distributing Listed Chemical for Manufacturing.
They were transported and booked into the Walton County Department of Corrections.
