I would like to commend and thank all the emergency response people who answered the call to a structure fire on St. Andrews on Thursday morning. I was visiting my mother in that house when the fire started and am amazed at the speed of response and even more so at the level of care shown her during the situation. I also owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to Mr. Odom, of Odom's Plumbing and Electrical. He was there with in the hour and promised her he would have her power back by night fall. As you are aware the heat on Thursday was stifling yet he and his crew worked non stop from morning until they finished the job and then moreover they stayed on site until it was inspected, the meter reinstalled and the power turned back on at the pole. I live in the Metro Atlanta area and know that this would not have been the case with any response beginning to end here. The people of Dothan are truly blessed to have such caring people in your town. Again thank you to !

This is a very nice compliment from an out-of-towner. I have always said that we in Dothan have awesome police and fire departments. Those ignorant people of Dothan who complain about the fire and police departments certainly would not hesitate calling them if they needed help. That is because they know rescue will come to them in a flash! I am very proud of Dothan and the service departments we have. And this letter from our out-of-town guest should make all of us from Dothan very proud!Allen Skipper
