Dothan (April 17, 2017) — Wells Fargo Bank employees, representatives and volunteers will be rolling up their sleeves and partnering with Wiregrass Habitat for Humanity for Super Saturday April 22, 2017. This is one of many groups of Wells Fargo employees that will be volunteering with nonprofits throughout the state.
This mass volunteer effort is a part of Wells Fargo’s Community Service Super Saturday, a Southeast regional initiative where hundreds of team members and friends participate in volunteer activities across cities in a single day. This year, the initiative has expanded to include Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, South Carolina and Tennessee.
Wiregrass Habitat for Humanity will be working with Wells Fargo employees to rehab a home through painting, pressure washing as well as working on the yard. The volunteers will be gathering at 8:00 a.m. to work on the home located in the Diamond Grove subdivision.
Amy Schutz, Executive Director with Wiregrass Habitat for Humanity, said “The ultimate goal of Wiregrass Habitat for Humanity is to eliminate substandard housing in the Wiregrass. We work towards that goal with each family we help through each home we build or rehab. We are not a quick fix for the housing problem, but a long-term solution to homelessness in the four counties we serve. Without the help of businesses such as Wells Fargo, we would not be building our 126th and 127th homes and housed 133 families in the last 27 years.”
