What does Alabama law have to say about guns?

While President Obama is proposing several changes to federal regulations regarding firearms, basic gun laws are largely established at the state level. And each state has a unique set of firearms law.

Here's some of what Alabama has to say about guns:

In Alabama, no permit is needed to buy a shotgun, rifle or handgun. And the open carry of pistols in public is not outlawed in most instances.
