SHORTER: What is the problem with a prosecutor being honest? Why do they have to work so hard to be dishonest?
What I am referring to is the Alabama Attorney General Office. I read on al. com the Attorney General's Office Sonny Reagan wrote that "a reasonable person would question whether the judjge currently assigned to the case can dispense justice with the required degree of fairness."
However in his motions in Houston County Reagan writes just the opposite.
In Greene County he wants the Judge off the case. They are successful and he gets a Jefferson County Judge appointed for Greene County. The Attorney General gets a search warrant, but the special Judge later reverses his ruling making accusations against the Attorney General's Office for not telling the court the truth.
AL. com is quoted as saying: Click for full article
The Alabama attorney general's office is asking the Alabama Supreme Court to remove a Macon County judge from the VictoryLand bingo case.
State lawyers filed the anticipated motion with the Alabama Supreme Court last night after Macon County Circuit Judge Tom Young refused to step aside from the case earlier this month. The attorney general's office last month seized hundreds of electronic gambling machines from VictoryLand arguing the devices are illegal slot machines.
However in Houston County that was not the case. Then Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore got his robe to tight which choked the oxygen off to his brain and apparently killed some brain cells. The reason I say that is Chief Justice Moore was quoted in a speech giving praises to Attorney General Luther Strange in his efforts on the bingo case. Well there are cases before Moore to decide on the issue before the Supreme Court. That is an apparent violation of his Canons of Judicial Ethics.
Here is my point:
1. In Houston County, Circuit Judge Mike Conaway is a stand up, honest guy. However, if all of the Judges of the Circuit recuse themselves for the flimsy reasons they did, then Judge Conaway had reasons to recuse himself. But the Attorney General who proposes to be honest objects and said it would not give the apprarance of unfairness.
Again, while I respect Judge Conaway. What I can not stand is the Attorney General running across this state saying one thing and then coming across this state saying something else. Judge Conaway I feel will do the right thing. However, it is the appearance and the AG Office is making the appearance stink and giving all Houston County Judges a bad name.
2. They fight and make Greene County recuse and get a special Judge from Jefferson County. That Judge issues a search warrant. Afterwards he finds out the Attorney General has lied.
3. Now in Macon County, the appeals court rules with the Macon County Judge, no probable cause. Then the Alabama Supreme Court overrules. While cases are pending the Alabama Chief Justice makes comments that indicate, no rule of law or fairness here, my mind is made up.
The Attorney General's Office is playing games and being dishonest with the people of this state. And Luther Strange DOES NOT HAVE THE BACKBONE to face me and answer the tough questions.
And by the way BIG LUTHER, I DO KNOW what was going on in the restaurant in Montgomery when I confronted you. And do not think I am a dummy!!! I know the players, who was present and the history...
