Today’s the day! PorktoberQue begins today, Friday September 23 at 5pm at the Houston County Farm Center located at 1701 E. Cottonwood Road in Dothan. You can pay at the gate, and it is $5 per person per day, with children 12 and under FREE! Well-behaved pets on a leash are welcome as well. No coolers allowed.
*insider tip* there is almost NEVER a line and usually good parking outside of the large metal building we call the Fest Haus (it faces Publix and the Circle). You can walk in the back door of the building and buy your ticket and be right in the middle of the polka fun and avoid the lines! This is like it used to be in the "old" p’nut festival days.
The Ultimate Air Dogs are jumping, the beer will be cold, and there’s dozens of food and merchandise vendors on site. The Man Cave is open, there’s practice rounds for the Corn Hole tournament and the BBQ Queens are selling whole butts and racks of ribs to go. 40 of the best competition BBQ teams will be firing up the pits tonight and the World Food Championships Steak and Bacon cooking competitions will be tonight. The Reptile Discovery Program is in the FestHaus and there’s live polka music too! Gates open from 5-10 pm!
Tonight’s entertainment includes:

Alice Nelson at 5:30, Glory Revealed at 6pm and Pure and Simple Band at 7pm
Inside Stage- Polka Dots at 5:30 and 8pm and the reptile Discovery Program at 7pm
