CLAYTON - Earlier this morning prospective jurors were met the courthouse door by Circuit Clerk David Nix and told they "were not needed as the case pled out". However we have learned this is false and been able to confirm that after allegations of prosecutorial misconduct have surfaced against Barbour County District Attorney Ben Reeves in recent days, the belief is that Mr Dickerson cannot get a fair trial in Barbour county and a change of venue immediately granted.
Confidential sources in law enforcement, speaking in the strict condition of anonymity, have shared that Mr. Reeves knowingly withheld critical blood DNA evidence from the original grand jury that identifies the individual responsible for the robbery and murder of Willie Pugh. Further Mr Reeves was proven in recent days to have violated state and federal law in willfully denying Dickerson the right to examine and inspect the evidence to be used against him and denied the defense team discovery documents that may prove Dickerson''s innocence. This brings into question whether Mr Reeves has had similar conduct in previous cases where defendants were forced to plea out while exculpatory evidence was suppressed.
