Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office investigators say a Crestview woman invited her husband to lie down on the bed, then pulled out a filet knife and stabbed him near the heart.
63-year old Gladys Chancey of 2632 Sorrel Ridge Road is charged with attempted first degree
premeditated murder and assault with a deadly weapon.
Investigators say the Gladys and Mark Chancey got into an argument the evening of June 24th and Gladys invited Mark into the bedroom to talk. She also invited him to lie down on his side of the bed and as he did so, she pulled out a knife from behind her back and stabbed him in the upper chest.
Her husband pulled out the knife and the pair began struggling. He says Gladys then reached
under the bed and pulled out a 9 mm semi-automatic pistol, which he was able to get away from her.
Mark Chancey contacted a family member who called 9-1-1. When deputies arrived, Mark was holding down Gladys to keep her from doing additional harm to him. He was taken to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
