Battens, AL: At around 2:30 a.m., Battens Volunteer Fire Department and Enterprise Rescue were dispatched to a single vehicle accident with injuries on Coffee County Road 636. Battens Fire Units arrived on scene to find a truck that had left the roadway. The truck is reported to have went airborne for approximately 100 feet and clipped the top of a tree and nose-dived through a power pole. Power lines were blocking the roadway. The roadway was closed for approximately 4 hours while Wiregrass Electric repaired and replaced lines and the pole. The driver of the vehicle only suffered from minor injuries. The accident is under investigation by the Alabama State Trooper’s Office.
