For 18 years they were married.  They shared a wonderful life that many of us could only dream of having. A man who  worked hard to earn what he has, to support a roof over his head for he  and his wife.  A woman, who worked hard around the house to make sure dinner was ready when he got home until she was unable to  cook anymore.  A sickness and a disease that was determined to wear them out.  A woman with a will, a will to live and love her man.  A man who  slept on a reclining couch for three months so he didn’t have to go  without sleeping next to his wife.  He would leave the house only minutes at a time before running back to his loving and caring wife whom he loved so much.

On April 9, 2013 at 2:14 pm; Cora McDonald, a long-time resident of  Clayhatchee, Alabama; passed away after a long battle with a rare blood  disease.  She was a God loving woman who didn’t fear one thing in life.  We will miss you Aunt Cora.  May God enjoy the presence of your beautiful smile.

Authors note: I am a nephew of this couple.  On behalf of our family, we would like to thank those who have visited my house at 351 East Main Street in Clayhatchee ( 92 ) and supported our many yard sales that were going towards her hospital visits to Atlanta.  Our family has been blessed by so many people in so many ways.  Please continue to pray for the McDonald family as we try to heal from this tragic loss that we endured today.
