Bill Gaither stated that no event has ever changed the face and future of Gospel Music like this one tragic event. In 2012 we endeavored to embark on a Memorial Concert for R.W Blackwood Sr. and Bill Lyles Sr. who’s lives were tragically cut short in a fiery plane crash in Clanton Alabama on June 30th 1954, it was such a success we are going to celebrate their lives again in Montgomery Alabama at Eastmont Baptist Church, June 30th at 6:30 pm featuring the Legendary Blackwood Quartet. This year’s special guests are Ron Blackwood and Bill Lyles Jr., sons of R.W Blackwood Sr. and Bill Lyles Sr., as the Blackwood Family celebrates not only the lives of these two men who were so dear to us, but also 79 years in Gospel Music.
