Pedro’s Story...

Pedro is a precious little guy with a lot of needs. It is daunting to think about, but we are trusting God and walking by faith. We serve a mighty God and He is surely guiding us. I would love to share any information with you.

Pedro Joseph was born weighting 4 pounds on December, 13th, 2015 in Port de Paix, Haiti. He has four siblings that range in age from 2 - 11 years old. Pedro is loved by his parents and at 5 days old, his father brought him to Gaston and Amber Bachelier’s home (New Song Mission in Port de Paix) in search for help. Because of the lack of education and the fear of the unknown, children in Haiti who are born with disabilities are often abandoned or left to die. Pedro was born with a bilateral cleft palate and deviated nasal passage. He also is missing both feet, one forearm and both hands. Pedro breathes and eats out of his mouth so it is difficult for him to get enough nutrition. At 6 months old he weighed only 8 pounds. However, God is so good! He has opened many doors which has allowed Pedro to receive a medical visa to come to the United States and has been here since June 6th, 2016. Since arriving, Pedro has been seen by an orthopedic surgeon at Greenville Shriners and will be seen again in a year. He has also been seen by a genetics doctor, a pediatrician and feeding therapist. God has put all of these people in his life. With the help of a big hearted pediatrician and a feeding therapist, Pedro is almost a year old and weighs 13 pounds. He arrived in the states in a preemie outfit and is not filling out 9 month clothes. We are now working on finding a cleft surgeon and a hospital willing to give Pedro the care he needs. 

This is only the beginning of Pedro’s amazing story. I truly believe he is a World Changer. He has softened so many hearts in his short little life. Pedro has a large group of Prayer Warriors who have carried him through each step and each day has others wanting to follow his unique and special story. 

God is so, so good and so faithful! I praise Him for all that He has done and for who all He has placed around Pedro. This has been and is still WAY out of any of our hands!!! God is steering this ship and all we can do is walk by faith… truly in every since walk by faith. We have seen over and over how God has worked everything out in His timing… his perfect timing. Thank all of you for loving this child.
