SHOW ME YOUR TATOO.

The other day I was in a fast food restuarant and observed a girl behind the counter with tatoos on her hand & arms. I can not understand why people get tatoos. Particularly women. I know no woman that would wear the same blouse, the same skirt, the same watch or jewelry, makeup, necklace, even the same hair color for a month, much less their whole life. I really can't understand when I see reasonably intelligent people have writing all over their necks. ----- Yet, right and left tatoos are becoming a part of our culture. Why? If you know the answer then post a reply. I would like to know other peoples opinion pro or con. Please post: Why I think tatoos are great. OR Why I think tatoos suck. OR Why I have a tatoo.

Tattoos are a form of personal ex pression. I have 4 and each one has a special significance to me. If a person chooses to get a tattoo that means something to them they shouldn't be judged for it.

I believe the body is God,s Temple and we should not do things to it to draw attention to it.

Fads come and go, but tattoos have been around for thousands of years in various cultures. Tattoos are personal ex pression, much like displaying art. While I admit I don't appreciate being able to see certain types of tattoos, it's the wearer's choice and freedom of ex pression. I got a tattoo shortly after joining the military. I had it removed prior to leaving. I felt "corporate America" may not see my "ex pression" in favorable light if it were ever exposed. They aren't for everyone and they are here to stay. Some of the nicest people I ever met were bikers...adorned with multiple tattoos. Don't judge a book by it's cover.

I have two tattoos and they have meaning, I think tattoos are a personal choice and you should not be judge for it. Why do you need to understand why others get tattoos?

I personally do not like tattoos, but a friend of mine had her baby that she lost tattooed on her ankle. My daughter has her son name and birthdate on her ankle and his birth sign on her back. Those I can see and understand. The rest of the tats she has she know I do not care for.

I don't have a tattoo and never wanted one. But I don't have big chrome wheels nor a loud truck either. I think tattoos, like big wheels nad loud mufflers are a fad. We have to adapt to others fads. I agree with the poster on all except his or her comment about hair color. I don't know women who change their hair color monthly. But, if some do, we have to adapt to that. So, if a woman has a tattoo, obviously she is proud of it or of them. With that in mind, I will gladly look at any tattoo a woman has and will give her my opinion of it if she asks, even if it is under her blouse or under her skirt if she is an adult. I would much rather see a nice tattoo than have to look at huge chrome rims or listen to deafening little pickups that are much louder than the big diesels.
