On Saturday, January 14, 2012, at 10:00AM Central Time, Friends of Lake Eufaula will host a forum for the discussion of the Lake Eufaula fishery at the Eufaula Community Center, Eufaula, Alabama.  A seven member panel of experts will discuss a range of relevant topics including size and creel limits, tournaments and the effects of catch and release, largemouth bass virus, control of aquatic vegetation, the introduction of triploid grass carp, stocking of hybrids and stripers, water management issues, and ongoing attempts to establish native aquatic vegetation in the lake.


 


Panelists will include Russ Lane, B.A.S.S. Elite Series Pro, Lester Bratcher, Director of the Eufaula Tournament Trail, William Smallwood, Corps of Engineers Project Manager, Brent Mortimer, Corps of Engineers Environmental Compliance Officer, Ken Weathers, ALDCNR District Fisheries Supervisor, John Kilpatrick, GADNR Fisheries Biologist, and Dr. Michael Maceina, Professor Emeritus, Auburn University.


 


The forum will include an hour of panel comments and presentations followed by an hour of Q&A.  Those planning to attend will find the Community Center adjacent to Eufaula High School at 530 Lake Drive, Eufaula, AL.
