Celebrating a Great First Season!The East Alabama High School Bass Trail (EAHSBT) Classic tournament was held at Lake Martin on Saturday, May 17th. High school anglers from Auburn, Eufaula, Headland, Beulah, Harris County, Central Phenix City, Smiths Station, Beauregard and Lee Scott competed in a yearlong fishing battle. Twenty-four boats took to the waters on May 17th. Headland anglers finishes were: Burdeshaw/Hartzog-6.3 lbs, McCord/Phillips-4.8 lbs. and Speigner-3.7 lbs. Overall TEAM results of the EAHSBT series were: 1st place - Auburn; 2nd place - Eufaula; and 3rd place - Headland. Angler of the Year results were: 1st place -Gifford/Moore - Eufaula; 2nd place tie - Burdeshaw/Hartzog, Headland and Foster, Beauregard; 3rd place - Lindsay/Parks, Auburn. Headland Bass Team has had a great first year and is looking forward to fishing the EAHSBT and the Alabama Student Angler Bass Fishing Tournaments next year! I do not think there was a tie for Angler of the year second place. We were there when the awards were given out. Ryan Foster was 2nd place by himself. He has the trophies hanging on his wall.
