High school anglers bring in big bags on Eufaula

On Saturday March 22nd high school anglers from Eufaula, Headland, Smiths Station, Auburn, Harris County, Central Phenix City, Beulah and Beauregard competed on Lake Eufaula. Twenty-six boats took to the waters in the second tournament of the East Alabama High School Bass Trail. Cassandra Gifford and Andy Moore of Eufaula finished in first with 20.02 lbs. Headlands Burdeshaw and Hartzog finished 2nd with 17.0 lbs, Eufaula's Dozier Greer and Ivan Gissendaner took third with 16.90 lbs and tournament big fish 5.78 lbs. Fourth place went to Eufaula's Dylan Pugh and Ryan Wells with 14.63 lbs and Harris Counties Culpepper and Hicks rounded out the top five with 12.40 lbs. Anglers enjoyed a beautiful day on the lake with family and friends while catching some really nice bass. There were a few small spots brought to the scales but the majority were largemouth in the 3 to 5 lb range.
