The anglers of the East Alabama High School Bass Trail gave it their all this past Saturday on West Point Lake. The 6:30 am blastoff saw 50 degree temps and very strong winds but the 23 boats from Auburn, Harris County, Headland, Beulah, Eufaula, Beauregard, Smiths Station, Central and Lee Scott high schools were determined to put fish in the boat and get the win. The changing weather patterns and a 4 ft drop in elevation proved to be a challenge for these anglers but their fishing knowledge and hard work paid off in the end. Eufaula anglers Cassandra Gifford and Andy Moore got the win with 5 fish weighing 10.95 lbs and tournament big fish of 4.69 lbs. 2nd Beauregard's Foster with 9.89 lbs, 3rd Holloway/Marshall Harris County 9.5 lbs, 4th Lindsay/Parks Auburn and 5th Cole Burdeshaw and Jacob Hartzog Headland with 8.25 lbs. Headland's Speigner finsihed 11th with 6.17 lbs and McCord/Phillips 14th with 5.62 while Eufaula's Pugh/wells finished 15th with 5.44 lbs. Great job guys!
