A. E. Cumbie, 81, of Dothan, died Sunday morning, October 11, 2015 at Flowers Hospital.


Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Highland Park United Methodist Church with Rev. Clint McBroom officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 10-11 on Tuesday prior to service time.


In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Highland Park United Methodist Church, 1619 S. Park Ave., Dothan, AL 36301.


Mr. Cumbie was born April 14, 1934 in Dothan and lived most of his life here. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was employed with Hayes Aircraft (Pemco) for over 30 years prior to his retirement. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church.


He is predeceased by his parents Alvah Carl and Ruby Cumbie and a sister, Alvis Cumbie.


Survivors include his wife, Yomiko June Cumbie of Dothan; two children, Ken Cumbie and Keith Cumbie, both of Dothan; a grandson, David Cumbie and his fiancé Amanda Burgett of Union Grove, AL; a special great-granddaughter, Trinity Cumbie of Dothan; three sisters, Georgia Warren, Daphne Weaver and Joyce Kirkland; several nieces and nephews also survive.
