Mr. Acie W. Taylor of Geneva, AL went home to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, March 12, 2016. He was 96.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2016 in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva with Dr. Mike Shirah and Rev. Dicky McAllister officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

The family asked that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions be made to the Maple Avenue Baptist Church, 1009 West Maple Ave., Geneva, AL 36340.

Mr. Taylor was born in Coffee County, AL on October 28, 1919 to the late William Riley and Elizabeth Crawley Taylor. Mr. Acie proudly served his country in World War II. He was a loving father and grandfather. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Esther Mae Taylor.

He is survived by one son, Danny Taylor (Madelyn) of Cottonwood, AZ; one daughter, Diane Goodnight of Hartford, AL; five grandchildren, Denise Crosby and Dennis Goodnight both of Hartford, AL, Kevin Goodnight of Savannah, GA, Veronica Taylor Speed of Dothan, AL, Amber Taylor Paul of Geneva, AL; special adopted granddaughter, Krystyn Mixon Davis of Geneva, AL; four great-grandchildren, Daniel Paul, Avery Paul and Brittany Taylor all of Geneva, AL, Ashlen Exum of Dothan, AL; one great great-grandson, Dylan Michael Taylor of Geneva, AL; other extended family and a host of friends.
