Obituary: Adrean “Poppy” Jerkins 

Mr. Adrean “Poppy” Jerkins passed away Friday, March 20, 2015 in Elba, Alabama. He was 74.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Monday, March 23, 2015 at Wooten Chapel Assembly of God Church with Reverend Mike Medley and Reverend Robert Creel officiating.  Burial will follow in the McGee Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon beginning at 3:00pm and continuing until 5pm.

Mr. Jerkins was born on April 22, 1940 in Coffee County to the late John L. and Willie Mae Hanks Jerkins. In addition to his parents, one son, Andy Jerkins, one granddaughter, Madison Lee Jerkins, two sisters, Eloise Carr, Jean Bryant all preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Glenda Jerkins, New Brockton; one son, Jackie Jerkins (Tasha Jones), Samson; one sister, Margaret Riggle, New Brockton; daughter-in-law, Jennie M. Jerkins, New Brockton; four grandchildren: Michael Anthony Jerkins Sr. (Angie), Carolyn Dawn Ezzell (Chase), Morgan Elizabeth Jerkins, Kylee Brooke Jerkins; four great-grandchildren: Mckenlie Alyse Jerkins, Madilynn Aubree Jerkins, Michael Anthony Jerkins Jr., Alivia Anne Ezzell as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
