Alberta "Bertie" Ellis Kilcrease age 79, a resident of the Basin Community near Elba, Alabama, passed away Monday April 29, 2013 at her home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday May 1, 2013 at Hayes Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 11:00 AM with Rev. Lloyd Hodge and Rev. Larry Mock officiating. Burial will follow in New Home Cemetery in the Basin Community with Hayes Funeral Home of Elba, Alabama directing. Visitation will be held at Hayes Funeral Home Tuesday evening April 30th from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

     Mrs. Kilcrease was preceded in death by her husband’s Rufus Ellis and John T. Kilcrease, parents Lessie Mae Hodge Williams and Zelmer Williams, along with brothers Buren, Marion, and Wayne Williams. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Olene Bess and Winnie Sheryl Herring.

     Survivors include: Daughter-Shirlene (Chris) Bradley of Elba, AL, Daughter- Jennifer (Joseph) Moody of Samson, AL, Son- Rex (Georgia) Ellis of Sevierville, TN, Son- Michael (Frances) Herring of Tuscaloosa, AL, Sister- Thelma (Donald) Acree of Elba, AL, Brother- Waylon (Debbie) Williams of Kinston, AL, Brother- Zemeria Williams of Elba, AL, Brother- Howard (Jewel) Williams of Elba, AL, Brother- Hayward (Jane) Williams of Dothan, AL. Other survivors include twelve Grandchildren and fifteen Great Grandchildren.
