ALICIA  WOODHAM  BABCOCK

 

COLUMBIA…Alicia Woodham Babcock, a resident of Columbia, died Tuesday, January 21, 2014. She was 38.

            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 25, 2014, in the Ebenezer Baptist Church with Reverend Don Tew officiating and a eulogy to be given by Rebecca Woodham. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family will receive friends from 4:30 until 7:00 P.M. Friday in the sanctuary of the Ebenezer Baptist Church.

            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Alabama Institute For Deaf and Blind, c/o Theresa D. Sorrell, Dothan Regional Center, 111 Medical Drive, Dothan, AL 36303.

            Alicia was born in Dothan and was reared in various locations in the United States and Germany while her father served in the United States Army. She was a graduate of Pike County High School in Brundidge.  Alicia attended Augusta State University and Georgia Military College and was currently attending Troy University Dothan, where she was working toward a degree to help others with visual problems. A resident of Columbia since 1997, Alicia was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Marcus Woodham.

            Surviving relatives include her husband, Chad Babcock; two sons, Evan Babcock and John Babcock, all of Columbia; her mother, Gloria Woodham, and her father, Stanley Woodham, both of Webb, AL; her grandmothers, Willie Bell Irvin, Webb; and Shirley Riley Woodham, Malvern; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Terry and Kathy Hilpipre, Clarion, Iowa; sisters-in-law, Rebecca Woodham, Brundidge, and Ginger Hilpipre (Gareth Brown), Perth, Western Australia; a nephew, Thomas Woodham, Brundidge.

            Serving as active pallbearers will be Thomas Woodham, Jamie Floyd, Randy Womble, Kevin Passman, Heath Weber, and Sam Irvin.
