Mrs. Allie Brunnette “Peggy” Howell of Hartford passed away Saturday, April 2, 2016 at her residence. She was 79.


 


Funeral services will be held at 2pm Monday, April 4, 2016 at Highfalls Assembly of God Church with Bro. Johnny Shepard and Sis. Wynese Lolley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends beginning at 5pm Sunday, April 03, 2016 at Highfalls Assembly of God Church.


 


Mrs. Howell was born October 21, 1936 in Hartford, Alabama. She met and married her lifelong sweetheart Joe. She worked at Van Heusen for 33 years and retired in 1993. She was a wife, mother and grandmother “granny”. She was as close to a saint as there could be. She will always be remembered for her delicious pound cakes and sand tarts.


 


She was preceded in death by her parents Rev. Robert and Mary Hatcher; her birth mother, Allie Childs; sister and brother-in-law, Inez and Nikky Senn; Father-in-law and mother-in-law, Seba and Gladys Howell.


 


Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Joe Howell of Hartford; one son, Joe Neal Howell (Freda) Slocomb; two daughters, Linda Peacock of Hartford, and Brenda Pullum (Joel) of Taylor; eight grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; one brother, William Hatcher (Ann) of Augusta, GA.; several nieces, nephews and extended family members; special friends, Lamar and Dianne Loftin of Hartford.
