ALLIE  MAE  KNOWLES

WEBB…Allie Mae Kilgore White Knowles, a resident of the Enon Community, between Webb and Ashford, died Tuesday morning, October 8, 2013, at her home.  She was 89.

            Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Thursday, October 10, 2013, in the Enon Church of Christ, with Minister Tony Clay and Minister Bobby Gayton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M. Thursday in the church sanctuary.

            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Enon Church of Christ, c/o Jimmy Kilgore, 320 Johnnie Ingram Road, Webb, AL 36376.

            Mrs. Knowles was born and reared in the Enon Community, between Webb and Ashford, daughter of the late James Robert Kilgore and Willie Mae Jones Kilgore. She was a graduate of Ashford High School. Mrs. Knowles was formerly employed by Dothan Hosiery Mill. Upon retirement, she was a sales representative for Avon. She was a member of the Enon Church of Christ and was a former member of the Enon Homemakers Club.  Mrs. Knowles was preceded in death by her husbands, Walter White, Hubert Cutchen, and James Knowles, a brother, E. Thell Kilgore, and two sons-in-law, Larry Kirkland and Jerry Crawford, and also a step-son, Frankie Cutchen.

            Surviving relatives include two daughters, Marilyn Crawford and Mary Kirkland, both of Webb; a sister, Blondell Cross, Dothan; a brother, Gilbert Kilgore (JoAnn), Greenwood, SC; six grandchildren, Leslie Weed (Nancy), Lisa Chapman (Joe), Todd Weed, Jason Weed, Allison Carlisle (Jeff), and Walter Crawford (Lisa); ten great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson on the way.

            Serving as active pallbearers will be Blake Weed, Brandon McCardle, Austin Carlisle, Richard Carlisle, Chris Logan and Brent Whitten.
