Andree Alphonsine Knick, long term resident of Dothan, AL, passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2015, at the age of 86 at her home beside her husband of sixty years.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with her grandson Andrew Knick officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Knick was born on the 24th of August, 1929, in Paris, France. She married a young military man and traveled to the U.S.A. for a new life as an American citizen. She chose the life of a mother, giving birth to a daughter in Fontainebleau, France and a son in Augusta, GA. Later in life she worked for Blumberg's and Harris Furniture Company in Dothan as an Interior Decorator and Designer. She then went back to her roots and taught French at Northside Methodist Academy. She loved hearing the children speak her native language and felt close to many she taught. Mrs. Knick was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Pathfinders Sunday School class.

Mrs. Knick is survived by her husband of sixty years, William D. Knick, Sr. of Dothan, AL; her son, William D. Knick, Jr. (Pam) of Dothan, AL; her grandchildren, Jennifer (Stan) of Birmingham, AL, Andrew (Kelli) of Troy, AL, and Gabrielle (Marshall) of Mobile, AL; her great-grandchildren, Lude, Parker, Raeleigh, and Dain. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alphonse and Andrea Sibillotte, her two sisters, Jeannine and Paulette, and her daughter, Rebecca Hasty.
