ANDREW  EUGENE "ANDY"  TARVER

HEADLAND…Andrew Eugene “Andy” Tarver, a resident of Headland, died Thursday morning, September 19, 2013, in a Birmingham hospital.  He was 71.

            Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. (CDT) Saturday, September 21, 2013, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Doug MacCormack officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in the Georgetown Cemetery, Georgetown, Georgia.  Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.  The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. Friday at the mortuary.

                        Mr. Tarver, a native of Geneva County, was the son of the late Dudley Dow Tarver and Ida Clara Davis Tarver.  He formerly lived in Eufaula, Clearfield, UT and Napier Field before moving to Headland in 2005.  Mr. Tarver served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was retired from the U.S. Civil Service at Hill Air Force Base, Layton, UT. He was a member of the Crossroads Baptist Church in Dothan. Mr. Tarver was preceded in death by a son, Andrew Lee Tarver and a brother, Franklin D. Tarver.

            Surviving relatives include his wife, Wanda McClintock Tarver; a daughter, Melissa Kay Bucklin (Christopher Michael), Headland; two sons, Billy Wayne Tarver, Moab, UT and Matthew Allen Tarver, Headland; two brothers, Dudley Eabud Tarver (Betty) and Benjamin Hillary Tarver, all of Fairhope, AL, five grandchildren, Joseph Allen Bucklin, Angelina Marie Bucklin, Esther Joy Bucklin, Charity LaMay Bucklin, and Andrew Lee Bucklin; and a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Tarver, Blakely, GA.
