Annie Mae Kennington of Samson passed away on Friday, September 4, 2015.  She was 81.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Samson with Rev. Jimmy Eddins officiating.  Burial will follow at Shady Grove Assembly of God Church Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Samson directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday beginning at 1:00 p.m.


Mrs. Kennington was born in Geneva County on May 9, 1934 to the late Leamon and Lena Lolley.  She was a longtime member of Sellersville Assembly of God Church.  Mrs. Kennington retired from Samson High School after thirty-three years of service.  Her husband of sixty years, Roy Kennington; granddaughter, Christy Simmons; and all seven of her siblings, preceded her in death.


She is survived by her son, Eddie Kennington, of Samson; three grandchildren, Caitlin Navarre (Travis) of Auburn, Dylan Baker of Auburn and Kevin Kennington (Jan) of Columbus, Ga.; three great grandchildren, Ethan Simmons, Grant Simmons, both of Samson and Carter Kennington of Columbus, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.
