 Annie Shipman Boykin of Dothan passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016. She was 73.


Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Monday, March 28, 2016 at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Philip Durr officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.


The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 to 11 A.M. Monday, March 28, 2016, one hour prior to the service.


In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Resource Center, 1314 Westgate Parkway, Suite 2, P.O. Box 1170 Dothan, AL 36302.



Ms. Annie Shipman Boykin, 73 years young, was born March 23, 1943 to Bernice Jackson and William Howard. She moved to New Jersey early in life and remained there until she retired from The State of New Jersey. She then moved to Dothan, AL. in 2010.



Ms. Annie was preceded in death by her mother, Bernice Jackson; father, William Howard; son, Stanley Boykin; and brother, Charles Howard.



 She leaves to cherish her memories, her son, Xavier Boykin of Atlanta, GA; her caregivers, Shan and Keith Russell and their daughter Kaitlin Russell of Dothan, AL; one grandson, Marques Boykin of Winter Haven , FL; two granddaughters, Ashley Boykin and Arnika Henry of Orlando, FL.; two sisters, Bessie White of Newark, NJ and Dianne Howard of Hillside, NJ.; Four brothers, William Howard of Queens, NJ., Larry Jackson, Lawrence Jackson and Emanuel Jackson all of Clio, AL.; Five great-grandchildren, Shakayla, Anthony, Jeremiah, Cayden, and Damante; two special aunts, Louise Shipman Smith of Clayton, AL. and Myrtle Shipman Burks (deceased). Also , three special friends, Lue Redding and Willie Mae Floyd of Louisville, AL. and Robbie Lee Deloach of Opelika, AL. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
