Anthony James Ayo of Dothan, Alabama passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Westside Terrace. He was 92.


Memorial service will be held at 4 pm on Saturday, February 18, 2017 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Father Juan Celzo officiating.


Mr. Ayo was born on December 5, 1924 in Houston, Texas and lived there most of his life. He was a United States Marine Corp veteran, having served in World War II, and a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a deputy for the Harris County Sheriff's Department, and retired from the 1st American Bank of Baytown, TX as Vice President.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Laverne Ayo; his parents, Charles and Marianna Aiosi; his sisters, Fannie Lanzo, Lucille Maine, Lena Ayo, Angie Mosley, Beatrice Helmcamp and Rosie Bonura; and his brothers, Sam Ayo and Angelo Ayo.


He is survived by his daughter, Judi Bosse; his grandchildren, Jeff (Michelle) Bosse, Dustin Bosse, Kelsi Bosse and Mallory Bosse; and his great-granddaughter, Ella Bosse.
