Aubrey L. Griswold, of Enterprise, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2015.  He was 89.

 

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 1, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church with Reverend Kerry Mitchell officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 5-7.

 

Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund or Benevolence Fund.

 

Mr. Griswold was born July 19, 1925, in Coffee County, to the late B.F. and Easter Stevens Griswold.  He served in the United States Navy during World War II.  He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Jean Fortner Griswold, and his wife of 12 years, Gladys Cain Griswold.

 

Survivors include 3 daughters: Becky Averett (Steve) of New Brockton, Libby Barker (Bill) of New Brockton, and Tammy Griswold of San Antonio, TX; 3 sisters: Pauline Edgar of New Brockton, Sue Pope of New Brockton, and Jean Harper of Dothan; brother, Clayborn Griswold of New Brockton; 3 grandchildren: Dale Averett (Deanna), Kyle Kelley, and Katie Kelley; great-grandchild, Eli Averett; daughter-of-the-heart, Cate Weber; numerous nieces and nephews.
