SFC Barry Lloyd Shaw (United States Army, Retired) passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at the family residence in Daleville.

 

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 22, 2014 at IAM 2003 Union Hall, Highway 84, Daleville, AL with Dr. James G. Choate officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory of Enterprise directing.  The family will receive friends at the Union Hall on Friday beginning at 10:00 a.m. and continuing until service time.

 

SFC Shaw was born July 27, 1948, in Charleston, Mississippi.  He was a 1971 graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi.  Before his retirement from the U.S. Army in 1995, he received many awards, among which were the Meritorious Service Medal (2^nd award) and the Army Commendation Medal (4^th award).  He retired from AFS in October 2013.

 

His father, Raymond Shaw, preceded him in death.

 

Survivors include his wife, Susan J. Shaw of Daleville; his mother and step-father, Sue and Ernie Enmin of Charleston, MS; 2 brothers: James Carrol Shaw (Rebecca) of Ooltewah, TN and Raymond Shaw of Charleston, MS; several nieces and nephews.
